We keep this simple: we only collect what we need to host your stay, we don't sell your data, and we delete it when we no longer need it.
Who we are
Olu Stays (“Olu”, “we”, “us”) operates a small apartment building in Kantale, Trincomalee District, Sri Lanka. If you have any question about your data, email hello@olustays.com.
What we collect
- Booking details — your name, email, phone number, dates, apartment choice and number of guests.
- Messages — anything you send us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp.
- Identity — where local law requires it, basic guest registration details at check-in.
- Basic site analytics — anonymous page-visit data to understand what's useful. No advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To confirm and manage your booking and stay.
- To reply to your enquiries and arrange extras like transfers.
- To meet legal obligations, such as guest registration.
- To improve the website and app.
Who we share it with
Only when necessary: a driver we book on your behalf, our payment provider to take a deposit, or the authorities where the law requires guest registration. We never sell your information or pass it to advertisers.
How long we keep it
Booking records are kept for as long as needed to run the business and meet tax and legal requirements, then deleted. Enquiry messages that don't lead to a booking are removed within 12 months.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time — just email us and we'll act within 30 days. You can unsubscribe from any occasional update with one click.
Cookies
The site uses a few essential cookies to remember your preferences and keep things working. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Changes
If we update this policy we'll change the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting your booking will be emailed to you.
