Where exactly is Olu?
Olu is a small apartment building in Kantale, in the Trincomalee District of eastern Sri Lanka — a five-minute walk from the Kantale tank. China Bay Airport is about 45 minutes away, and the Nilaveli and Uppuveli beaches are roughly an hour by car. We share the exact address and a map pin once your booking is confirmed.
What apartment types are there?
One type, six identical units. Each is a ~66 m² one-bedroom apartment (sleeps up to 3) with a bedroom, an open-plan living and dining room, a full kitchen, a private bathroom and a balcony. Three units sit on each of the two floors. Every apartment has air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and parking.
How do I book?
You can request a stay through the website or the Olu app — pick your apartment, choose your dates and number of guests, and send the request. Nuwan confirms availability, usually within an hour, and shares payment details. Your dates are only held once he confirms.
What's included in the price?
Nightly rates include the apartment, all utilities, Wi-Fi and parking. A one-off cleaning fee and a small service fee are added at checkout. Airport transfers and a tuk-tuk on call can be arranged for an extra charge.
Is there a minimum stay?
Most dates have a two-night minimum. Over public holidays and the December–March peak season this can rise to three or four nights. The booking calendar will show the minimum for your chosen dates.
Can you arrange airport pickup?
Yes. We can send a private driver to meet you at China Bay (TRR) or arrange a longer transfer from Colombo. Just let us know your flight details and we'll handle it — no haggling at arrivals.
Do you allow children and extra guests?
Children are very welcome. Each apartment has a maximum guest count shown on its page; please don't exceed it, as it affects bedding, safety and the host's licence. If you need a cot or an extra mattress, ask and we'll sort it.
What's your cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before check-in for a full refund of the nightly total. Inside 48 hours the first night is non-refundable. Peak-season and long-stay bookings may have stricter terms, which we'll always state clearly before you pay. See our Terms for the full detail.
Is the area safe and quiet?
Kantale is a calm, residential town and the building has an on-site host. It's a peaceful base — most guests use it for slow mornings by the tank and day trips to the coast, Fort Frederick and Pigeon Island.
